| The Poetry of Rodrigo Villegas |
And the Germans marching
To the hymn of Lullabys
The Englishman unwashed in tweeds
Waits for the first shower
Of the black gold
The Norwegian complacent
In his sanctuary
Knows that it is better
To be bored than to grow angry
While Spanish-America grapples
For the resounding blast
Of a million Sierra Maestras
That will split
The scroungy dog
From the prostitute
And in the U.S.
Three flags of liberation
Fly victorious
The Black
The Lavender
And The Once A Month Flag
